Tacos were really good here! Located in North Park, this place is a great place to try tacos. There was a little difficulty for me to find parking here. There are many restaurants and bars near here so it may be a little walk to find parking. When going here, the line for food was not too long however I have heard of it being crowded during peak hours. The service was really good and the staff was very nice. They were quick to take our orders and the food came out really quickly. The ambiance of the place is nice. It is a bit on the smaller end but that is not a knock to the establishment. It is clean and well kept.

City Tacos is always a favorite of mine. This location and the Pacific Beach one have great tacos! I got the Camaron Enchilado (amazing flavor, melted cheese lined tortilla, well cooked shrimp), Caribbean Salmon (messy with the cotija cheese, not dry at all, loved the added freshness of the cucumber and the sweetness of the pineapple), Pollo City (loved the golden raisins, it was like eating a nice fresh salad), and the Pollo Asado (classic for a reason). I would get all of these again but I also love trying all the unique options they have available.

Tacos so good that I didn't mind the DJ bumping club music while I ate. Yes, there was a DJ spinning mid 90s bangers on a Tuesday night at City Taco. We tried a variety of tacos and all were great but holy hell, the Mexicali and Pescado tacos were next level. To start off with, when you hold the tacos, you can instantly tel just from the touch that the tortillas are homemade and special. The ingredients are all fresh and tastefully incorporated. The surf and turf taco was good but I don't think a taco has enough space on it to allow appreciation of both surf AND turf. You kind of have to stick to one meat. The chorizo and potatoes were solid. The Carnitas was probably the least impressive but I appreciated the chicharron. Definitely plan on revisiting.

I absolutely love this place. I come here too much and a review is long overdue. This is a heavenly spot with innovative tacos, but a fraction of the cost of Puesto. We have the Passport Pass through work so we get an extra 20% off the bill. I may have tried almost everything on this menu, so I'll give just shoutout to some of my favs! I am not vegetarian, but I absolutely love and crave their City Zucchini, Chile Releno and Portobello tacos. Their fried fish taco, crunchy shrimp tacos and salmon tacos are also really good if you like seafood. I always enjoy the Mexicali and cochinita pibil tacos, but often times, my belly runs out of room.

Tacos and quesadillas were hot and ready by the time the staff brought it to our table. The place was still popping with music blasting around 9pm on a late work day. You get 10% off on Taco Tuesday. There is a self-serve salsa station so you can add more sauce to your tacos even though they're already delicious as they are. Mexi-Cali taco is the best there!

We went to pick up my cousin from the San Diego airport and wanted some easy, delicious tacos. The variety of meats was amazing. The Mexicali taco was unlike anything I've ever had! The only thing that wasn't as noticeable on the menu was the ones that were noted as "spicy". My cousin and I are both weak with spice so my boyfriend had to end up eating our birria and salmon tacos. Would definitely recommend for an easy quick bite!

Scallop tacos? City Tacos had me at hello. As a taco fan who also loves scallops, I knew that visiting City Tacos was a to-do item despite my short weekend stay in San Diego. With the various meat and seafood options here City Tacos, it was difficult to narrow down to just two or three tacos that made up my lunch. Well, given we are in San Diego, I had to order the fish taco. I also ended up ordering a surf and turf taco. The bill came out to nearly $20 for 3 tacos. However, given that I chose some premium options from the menu, that still seemed reasonable. Then, I slowly enjoyed my tacos one by one, and it was easy to see that the tacos were worth every penny. The surf and turf had a great contrast of texture and flavor. The fish taco tasted refreshing. The scallop taco, although it was the smallest taco I have seen, was fresh and the creamy and tangy sauce brought out the sweetness of the scallops. It took a while to get our orders; I guess good things come to those who wait. Good thing there was a good amount of seating for us to sit and wait for our orders. I will certainly miss these tacos after my return to the East Coast.

My coworkers and I came here on a Tuesday after a group errand/outing. It wasn't busy at all but can see parking being an issue. It's so close to the beach! They do a Tuesday special of 10% off all food menu items and $2.50 Mexican beer specials. So the price point was good! I got the Mexicali and the Pescado and a Jarritos to drink. The Mexicali tasted almost like a regular beef taco but then I tasted the mashed potatoes! It's comfort wrapped in a tortilla. The Pescado is also really delicious, I loved the strawberry added to it! They make for a bit of sweetness and tartness that complements the fried fish. Unsure if there's folks in the back (I couldn't see), but our cashier brought out our food to our table so overall a nice eat in experience! I'll try different one the next time I come in.

Amazing tacos and great, great service. If you want something not as traditional, go get the spicy Salmon tacos. I loved them and they were not too spicy. Cute, little place with outdoor seating!
